Riptied Partners, Darryle and Inge make beautiful Archifetti neck ties that are popular with lawyers, lawmakers, and visitors at the US Congress and Supreme Court gift stores. Darryle and Inge decided to expand their business onto the net, but were concerned about Merchant Banking fees. They wanted to “dip their toes” into online sales—not make a large investment.
Lux set up an inexpensive and easy-to-use solution. The shopping cart database is a rented Microsoft Commerce Manager solution, which allows Riptied to easily manage shipping and analyze sales.

The payment processing system is PayPal, which takes money from customers’ credit cards, deposits it in Riptied’s PayPal account, and then transfers it to Riptide’s regular business account on a monthly basis. PayPal charges a small commission on each sale, avoiding the cost of an expensive Merchant Banking Account.
